Proverbs 19:8.

I have the habit of reading Proverbs according to the days of the month, today is 19th, so here goes Proverbs 19. Touched by one  verse in particular, on the rainy morning.

"Grow a wise heart—you'll do yourself a favor; keep a clear head—you'll find a good life." (Proverbs 19:8, The Message) 

「得著智慧的，愛惜自己的性命；保持明達的，必得益處。」 (新譯本)

Love the way how Eugene Peterson paraphrase it, "grow" a wise heart - 

跟古人所說的「經一事長一智」不謀而合, 

可惜我們只是凡人, 很多時候, 

我們經N 事才長一智 (甚或半智/0.5智?) 

也不要緊 (因為我們真的只是凡人), 

make that wise heart "growing" (present continuous tense) by all means!
